What is a Mentat? You need to brush up on your Frank Herbert then. Mentats were human computers that served the great Houses of the Lansdraad.

Another PC Nightmare from Across the Pond
Here's another one from The Telegraph's 'Expat Bulletin'. I had no idea the Brits were so far gone. Scary. I think the conventional wisdom in the colonies is that the Brits are more level-headed than we.
I used to be a Technical Specialist on a U.S. Department of State contract. That meant that I got paid to travel to far-off, exotic locations and work on the computers in US embassies and consulates worldwide. Now I have transitioned to a much more challenging one. I am a biometrics system administrator working for Northrop Grumman (you know, the folks that bring you the B-2 bomber and Nimitz-class aircraft carriers) in Iraq. The base where I am deployed used to be an Iraqi Air Force base. Just before the war started, the Iraqis buried most of the planes in the sand. That's me in front of an Iraqi MiG-29 Fulcrum! (Click on the pic for a larger version.)
